8 Dubai World Records You Didn’t Know About

If you’re a resident of Dubai, then hearing about a new world record broken on a daily basis is just normal. But we’re absolutely sure that even die-hard Dubai fanatics will be surprised by the following list of World Records set in Dubai, which would have been overlooked by the keenest of eyes:

The Tallest Chocolate Sculpture
The sweetest and the most delicious Dubai Guinness World Record was made right here in Dubai!The tallest chocolate sculpture ever was a replica of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. Created by Andrew Farrugia in 2014, this record-holding creation was 13.52 meters in height and took 4,200 kilograms of Belgian chocolate to create!

World’s longest painting
Around 20,000 students painted their way into the record books by producing the world’s longest painting in 2015 in Dubai. The painting was made to raise awareness for the Dubai Autism Centre. The final picture was a brush-burning 10,850 meters in length. The Dubai Autodrome was used for its super-long flat surface, which the painting snaked along when it was completed.

World’s largest indoor theme park
IMG Worlds of Adventure in Dubai is officially the largest indoor theme park in the world. The park includes a haunted hotel, a 12-screen multiplex cinema and 5D movie showings. It covers a whopping 1.5 million square feet and attracts millions of visitors every year.

The World’s largest gold ring at the Gold Souq
Located in Gold Souq Dubai, inside the Kanz Jewellers showroom is the large gold ring in the world, weighing 64 kgs! This piece of jewelry is absolutely mesmerizing due to its huge size. Crowds of people flock around the display to get clicked against the enormous ring.

The Fastest Police Car Service
Fast supercars and Dubai are almost synonymous and it so it should not come as a surprise that Dubai holds the world record for the fastest police cars in the world. The Dubai Police were presented a Guinness World Record in April 2016 for having the world’s fastest police car in service – a Bugatti Veyron – in their fleet of supercars. With an unbelievable top-speed of 407 km/h and a 1000-horsepower, this supercar can go from 0 to 97 km/h in a mere 2.5 seconds.

World’s Largest Picture Frame
One of the most iconic structures in Dubai after the Burj Khalifa and Burj Al Arab is the Dubai Frame. Located in Zabeel Park, it holds the Guinness World Record for the largest picture frame ever. At a height of 150 metres, the Dubai Frame boasts sweeping, panoramic views of both Old and New Dubai, a 25 sqm glass panel bridge that gives visitors the experience of walking on air and an immersive gallery that showcases the past and make predictions about Dubai’s future!

World’s Largest Vertical Maze
We’re absolutely sure that even the residents of Dubai would be surprised that such a world record exists amongst them. The Al Rostamani Group Maze Tower located on the Sheikh Zayed Road holds the world record for the largest permanent vertical maze ever, receiving the world record in 2012. This 55-storey building boasts of a vertical maze that spans a surface area of 3,947 sqm!

World’s Largest Cup of Hot Tea
Well who could have thought? But the credit for this unique world record goes to Global Village Dubai. At a staggering 3.66m in height, the behemoth cup of tea held 5,000 litres of tea. The massive cup came equipped with a heating system to maintain a blistering temperature of 85° Celcius!
