Although the UAE is a relatively young country, it has an excellent education system, with a wide variety of curricula to choose from. There are numerous schools to choose from, with each school offering various facilities to help them stand out from the rest. We have put together a guide to help you make an informed decision while choosing the right school for your child:

Located in Al Sufouh, Dubai College is one of Dubai’s oldest schools, and one of its most prestigious. Established in 1978, the school is now 40 years old, and has a peerless reputation. The school sets demanding expectations for potential applicants, ensuring only the very best students enter its storied halls.
Ranked ‘outstanding’ by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) for several years consecutively, Dubai College’s strengths are its excellent leadership (the school is helmed by Michael Lambert, Oxford and SOAS)), being outstanding in English, Mathematics and Science, a rich and innovative curriculum and extra-curricular programme, and the propensity to drive students to excel in academics.
The campus of Dubai College offers many facilities such as a large sports field with rugby pitches, football pitches, a cricket pitch and cricket nets as well as astroturf tennis courts and netball courts.
The school continues to rank number one on the wish-list of every aspiring student in the region.
Dubai International Academy

Despite being a fairly entrant in the Dubai school industry, Dubai International Academy has swiftly established itself as one of the city’s best. Located in Emirates Hills alongside Al Khail road, the school truly lives up to its name, with an incredibly diverse student population and faculty. It currently has 2,240 students from over 80 nationalities.
The school made headlines by being the first in the UAE to offer the Swiss curriculum, International Baccalaureate (IB). The school has been rated outstanding by the KHDA in terms of health, safety care and support for students with special needs.
The school also offers a multitude of facilities, including a library, fully equipped science labs, computer labs and a robotics lab, covered swimming pools, basketball, tennis courts and more.
The students are highly motivated and well supported, with a pass rate of 94% (well above the global average).
The Indian High School

For a school that started with just 9 students back in 1961, IHS has done well for itself over the years. It now has over 15,000 students and 800 teachers spread over three campuses. Despite being one of Dubai’s best schools, and the best Indian school in the city, it is hailed for being economically priced. Fees start at AED 4000 at KG, and end up rising very little to AED 8,500 for Grade 12.
Indian High School Dubai follows the CBSE curriculum with core subjects from grades 1-4 including English, Hindi, Arabic, Mathematics, General Science, Social Studies, Art Education, Moral Science / Islamic Studies, Work Experience, Physical and Health Education as well as Computer Education.
The school’s main strength is its students. There is a clear focus on personal development, social behaviour and attitude. Significant efforts are made to instill community values and to teach students to care for the environment.
Facilities at the main campus include a number of state-of-the-art ICT laboratories, three science laboratories, a home science laboratory, an auditorium (with 1800 person seating capacity), canteen, as well as a library and research center. The school also comes equipped with three counselling centers, and a number of medical centers equipped with full time medical officers and a number of trained nurses. Transport is also offered to all students with a fleet of 81 buses. There is also a radio station which is run and managed by the students.
