How can I register my contract via Ejari?
Published on January 15, 2018
In an ideal world, it would be the responsibility of the landlord or the company acting on his behalf, to register the tenancy contract. However, if your contract hasn’t yet been registered, it’s best you take over.
RERA has authorised typing centres, Municipality Centers and select Emirates Post Offices where you can easily submit your documents and register. Some centres allow you to upload your documents and get the Ejari contract by email, but make sure you check for additional charges.
Where are the Municipality Centres?
Al Manara Center
Location: Off Sheikh Zayed Road (Abu Dhabi side), Near Noor Islamic Bank Metro Station
Al Twar Center
Location: Off Al Nahda Road, Near Al Qusais Metro Station
And the Emirates Post Offices?
Hor Al Anz
What is the cost involved?
The cost is typically AED 160 for typing plus an AED 35 administration fee.
What documents will I need?
You will need copies of the original tenancy contract, recent DEWA bill (Green/electronic bill is acceptable), security deposit receipt voucher issued by DEWA (if you’re a new tenant and don’t have a DEWA bill yet), Emirates ID, passport, valid residence visa, trade license (if tenant is a company) and the title deed or site plan (if company owned).
Do I have to register the tenancy contract every time I renew the lease?
