Business Bay literally lies in the shadow of the world’s tallest building, but it’s carved a name for itself nonetheless. It lies at the end of the venerable Dubai Creek (hence the ‘bay’ in the name).
Apart from its master-fully planned properties laden with state of the art, ultra-exclusive amenities, the community is also known for the incredible views of Dubai’s skyline. Furthermore, the gleaming waters of the Dubai Canal that this community overlooks also makes for a wonderful sight.
It is a well-connected area that lies close to Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road. The Dubai International Airport is just a 20-minute drive away (in ideal traffic conditions) while areas like Dubai Marina, Media City and International City are just 15 minutes away.
Business Bay was built to encompass the best of the business world in the region, being close to DIFC. But the opening of the Dubai Canal in 2017 has made it a tourist hotspot as well. As stated above, Business Bay is a self-contained community. Therefore, you wouldn’t have to travel a lot to find basic facilities, including supermarkets and retail shops. Popular names such as Spinneys and Choithrams are available here. Other than that, there’s West Zone Supermarket, Al Maya supermarket along with numerous mini-marts.
The prime location of Business Bay makes it a well-connected area. Residents of this community, who have their own vehicles, can use Al Khail Road and Sheikh Zayed Road, located on the southern and northern sides of the community respectively to access different parts of the emirate. They can also take the exit that leads directly to Downtown Boulevard.
Those relying on public transport can take the Metro from the Business Bay Metro Station. There’s also an option of taking public buses and taxis. Other than that, Burj Khalifa, Financial Centre and Emirates Towers stations are also located nearby.

Business Bay has Emirates Hospital Clinic situated in Bay Avenue. It is more suitable for minor ailments. For aggravated conditions, patients are advised to visit Emirates Hospital in Jumeirah and Medicare Hospital in Safa. Both of these hospitals can be accessed easily.

You have to try Oz Pizza at the Bayswater Building. A tiny Australian (they even have the Commonwealth Blue Ensign hanging above the sign) pizza place, Oz Pizza punches well above its weight. Munch on typical Aussie street food, including the Ned Kelly and satay chicken.
If you’re looking for something a little spicier, make your way to Ebony Interactive Restaurant. Sup on a delicious mix of Arabic and traditional Sudanese delicacies, such as daleem or deep-fried lamb leg and okra dish bamya mafruka. You can even watch your dish being prepared ‘live’ on a chef cam.
For a fine dining experience, make a reservation in Waka in Oberoi, Tong Thai in JW Marriott Marquis and Cuisinero Uno in Steigenberger Hotel. You’ll also find plenty of licensed bars and pubs for an active nightlife scene.
This is the only thing that this community lacks in. There are no religious centres in this locality. However, depending on your belief and religion, you can head to nearby areas. Jumeirah Mosque, Burj Khalifa and Al Ghafoor Mosque are some of the religious places for Muslims that can be reached easily.
For Hindus, the closest option Is Bur Dubai community that has Shiva and Krishna temples. Christians can visit the Holy Trinity Church and St Mary’s Catholic Church located on Oud Metha.
Residents at Business Bay have easy access to the very popular Jumeirah Beach. It is just a 15-minute drive away from the neighbourhood. If you’re looking for a water body within the community, you can visit the Dubai Canal. It has incredible boardwalk. You can take a stroll and enjoy the pleasant views of the canal.
